Oji Holdings Corporation would like to announce that Oji Green Resources Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, President: Shoji Fujiwara, wholly-owned subsidiary, hereinafter “OGR”) established a joint company, OJI GRANPA Co., Ltd. as an agricultural production company in Suzuka with GRANPA Co., Ltd. (Kanagawa, President: Takaaki Abe, hereinafter “GRANPA”) and installed the sun light type plant factory that cultivates and sells leaf vegetables.
1. Project Purpose
Currently, We, Oji Group is aggressively pursuing new business portfolio which includes resources and energy field. This time Oji Group has decided to get through agribusiness as part of resources businesses.
We have the progressed research of forest tree breeding which allows us to leverage afforestation project and forest management both domestically and internationally. Besides, we have started the research of traditional Chinese medicine plants, or Kampo, by our breeding technique and knowhow of raising seedlings. This project target is to structure a sustainable agricultural management system and create new value of agribusiness with synergy combined OJI’s R&D research technique and advanced technology of GRANPA.
We will also contribute the region’s agricultural community in cooperation with the local farmers, groups and governments through this project.
